Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to bookings made with Game of Throwing London (“Game of Throwing”, “we”, “us” and “our”). The person who makes the booking is the Lead Booker and is responsible for ensuring that every participant and guest in the booking is aware of, and complies with, these Terms and Conditions.
By completing a booking or making payment, the Lead Booker confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
1.Venue and contact details
Game of Throwing London is located at:
Hammersmith
London
W6 0QU
Email: lond@gameofthrowing.co.uk
Telephone: 0330 122 8877
Cancellation and rescheduling requests must be sent to the email address above or made by telephone. A telephone request takes effect only when Game of Throwing confirms the change in writing.
2.Prices and payment
All prices are stated in pounds sterling and include VAT unless the booking page clearly states otherwise.
The price of a standard lane booking covers a session of up to 60 minutes, including the safety briefing, training and throwing time. A package or event booking covers the duration and inclusions shown in the relevant package description.
Optional products or services that are not included in the original booking price will be charged separately.
Game of Throwing can change its prices at any time. A price change will not affect a booking that has already been confirmed and paid for.
Payment is taken in full when a standard booking is made. We accept the credit cards, debit cards and American Express payment options displayed at checkout.
Payments are processed by a specialist payment provider. Game of Throwing does not store customers’ full payment-card details.
3.Booking and confirmation
Bookings are processed in real time and remain subject to availability until payment has been successfully completed.
A booking is confirmed when the Lead Booker receives a confirmation email containing the booking reference, venue, date and start time.
If a confirmation email does not arrive within 15 minutes, the Lead Booker must check the spam or junk folder and contact Game of Throwing before attempting to book again.
The Lead Booker must check the confirmation email immediately and report any error without delay.
Standard bookings must be paid in full. We do not hold standard sessions using an unpaid reservation or deposit. Corporate and bespoke payment arrangements must be agreed directly with Game of Throwing in writing.
4.Session times, arrival and lateness
All participants must arrive 10 minutes before the booked start time to complete check-in and prepare for the safety briefing.
A standard axe-throwing session lasts up to 60 minutes and includes the safety briefing, training and throwing time.
Sessions start and finish at the booked times. If the group arrives late, the session timer will still run from the booked start time and the delay will be taken from the remaining experience time.
Late arrival does not entitle the customer to a refund, credit or an extension beyond the scheduled finish time.
5.Customer cancellations, rescheduling and account credit
Customer-requested cancellations are non-refundable. This does not affect a refund owed where Game of Throwing cancels or cannot provide the booked service, or any other right that cannot legally be excluded.
When Game of Throwing receives 72 hours’ notice or more before the original start time, the customer can choose one of the following options:
- One reschedule without a change fee, subject to availability; or
- Credit for the full amount paid, added to the customer’s Game of Throwing account.
Account credit issued under clause 5.2 remains valid for 12 months from the date it is issued. It can be used towards future Game of Throwing bookings, gift vouchers, soft drinks or water.
When Game of Throwing receives less than 72 hours’ notice, a booking can be moved only where the requested replacement date and time are available. The rescheduling fee is 50% of the original booking price and must be paid when the new booking is confirmed.
A booking made less than 72 hours before its start time is subject to the less-than-72-hours policy from the moment it is confirmed.
All rescheduling requests are subject to availability. A requested change is not confirmed until Game of Throwing confirms it in writing and any applicable fee has been paid.
6.Saturday same-day time changes
A request to move a Saturday booking to an earlier or later time on the same Saturday is subject to availability and a fixed £25 fee, including VAT.
The £25 same-day fee applies instead of the 50% rescheduling fee in clause 5.4.
Moving a Saturday booking to a different date is governed by the standard notice and rescheduling rules in clause 5.
The £25 fee must be paid when the revised time is confirmed.
7.Changes to participant numbers
A reduction in participant numbers does not create a right to a refund.
For a last-minute reduction in participant numbers, Game of Throwing can apply credit to the customer’s Game of Throwing account for eligible unused places. The team will confirm the value of the credit after checking the booking price and final participant numbers.
Credit issued for reduced participant numbers remains valid for 12 months from the date it is issued. It can be used towards future bookings, gift vouchers, soft drinks or water.
Additional participants can be added only where the booked lane or venue has sufficient capacity and the additional price is paid before participation.
8.Age requirements and adult supervision
The recommended minimum age for axe throwing is 10.
A participant aged 9 to 14 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over who also participates and pays for a place. The participating adult counts towards the lane capacity.
A participant aged 15 to 17 can take part without an adult on the lane, but an adult aged 18 or over must remain on the premises throughout the session.
The Lead Booker is responsible for providing correct participant ages and ensuring that the required adult supervision is in place.
Game of Throwing can request reasonable proof of age where a participant’s eligibility is unclear.
9.Safety and conduct
Every participant must attend the safety briefing and follow all instructions given by the Axe Master or another member of staff.
Closed-toe shoes covering the entire foot are compulsory. Participants wearing unsuitable footwear will not be permitted to throw.
Anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to participate.
Game of Throwing can stop or restrict a participant’s involvement where that person ignores safety instructions, behaves dangerously, threatens staff or guests, or deliberately damages the venue or equipment.
Refusal or removal under clauses 9.2 to 9.4 does not create a right to a refund, credit or replacement session.
Participants can leave the activity at any time by following the Axe Master’s instructions and using the designated exit route.
10.Changes made by Game of Throwing
Game of Throwing can make reasonable changes to the order, format, equipment or arrangement of an experience where required for safety, maintenance or operational reasons, provided that the essential booked experience is still supplied.
If Game of Throwing cancels a booking or cannot provide the essential booked experience, the customer will be offered a reschedule, account credit or a refund of the amount paid for the service that was not provided.
11.Personal belongings and customer damage
Customers are responsible for their personal belongings and must use the designated storage area where one is provided.
Game of Throwing is not responsible for loss or damage caused by a customer’s failure to use the designated storage area. This does not exclude responsibility for loss or damage caused by our negligence.
A customer who deliberately or recklessly damages the venue, equipment or another person’s property is responsible for the reasonable, documented repair or replacement cost.
Game of Throwing will provide details of the alleged damage and the amount claimed. The customer will have an opportunity to respond before payment is requested. We will not automatically charge the original payment card for damage.
12.Personal data and payment information
Game of Throwing processes personal data to administer bookings, provide the booked experience, communicate with customers, maintain venue safety, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations.
Personal data will be shared only with service providers that support the booking, payment and business systems, or where disclosure is required by an authorised public body or by law.
Game of Throwing does not use acceptance of these Terms as consent to receive marketing. Marketing is sent only where a separate valid permission or another lawful basis applies.
Further information about how personal data is collected, used, retained and protected must be provided in the Game of Throwing London Privacy Notice.
13.CCTV
CCTV operates at the venue for safety, security and incident-management purposes.
Participants must acknowledge that CCTV is in operation. CCTV processing is governed by the venue’s Privacy Notice and CCTV policy rather than by consent to these Terms.
Signs at the venue identify the areas covered by CCTV and provide the required privacy information.
14.Liability and consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms restricts a customer’s statutory rights where the booked service is not provided with reasonable care and skill, is not as described, or is not provided as agreed.
15.Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
A consumer can bring proceedings in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.
16.Contact and complaints
Questions, change requests and complaints must be sent to:
Include the booking reference, Lead Booker’s name, scheduled date and a clear description of the request.
